dc.description.abstractThis study aims to explore the familial responses and support young women receive, and their perceptions on the effect of the received familial response, and support on their coping abilities and wellbeing during the life event of pregnancy and motherhood. In a poor environment where on hand resources are lacking, familial support is vital. Data collection for this study took place in the township of Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa.
