Abstract

The food and agri sector is one of the strongest industries of the Netherlands. It is of large interest for the Dutch economy and employment. Therefore, it is the ambition of the ambition of the Rabobank Food & Agri Netherland to strengthen their position in the food & agri chain. To identify the current position of the Rabobank in the food sector, this study arose. With this study the Rabobank is now ready to provide more targeted support on possible proposions toward the 139 local banks. Rabobank has also another challenge; they must react to upcoming trends at the right time. The following decades the Dutch food sector will be confronted by a couple of challenges. Only together we are able to deal with these challenges, so collaboration between companies, government and NGO's is necessary. One of the most important trends on this area is the collaborations between companies from different sectors to solve sector exceeding problems. This trend is also appreciable for the Rabobank and therefore important to deal with.
