dc.description.abstractThis research examines the shift in portrayal of the balance of love and duty in the myth of Dido in its adaptations. To examine this shift, the adaptations by the authors Vergil, Chaucer and Marlowe are scrutinised and the outcome connected to the time and age of the writers.
