Por la corriente inglesa. El uso y la importancia del inglés entre estudiantes en España y Holanda.

Abstract

En esta tesina se investiga qué papel desempeña el inglés en la vida de estudiantes universitarios en España y Holanda. El estudio comparativo tendrá lugar a través de encuestas y se efectúa entre estudiantes españoles de la Universidad de Alicante y estudiantes holandeses de la Universidad de Utrecht. Se dirige a la adquisición del inglés, contactos con personas anglófonas, el uso del inglés en las actividades diarias y la actitud hacia lenguas, países y culturas extranjeras. Por los resultados de estas encuestas se analiza la diferencia en el uso y el papel del inglés entre los estudiantes españoles y holandeses con respecto los ámbitos mencionados. This thesis concerns the role of English in the daily life of university students in Spain and The Netherlands. This comparative study has taken place through surveys taken by students of the University of Alicante and of the Utrecht University. In the surveys, one focuses on the learning of English, contacts with native speakers of English, the use of the English language in daily activities, and the attitude towards foreign languages, countries and cultures. The results of these surveys serve to analyze the difference in the use and the role of the English language between Spanish and Dutch students, regarding the mentioned categories.
