The verbal inflectional development of five deaf Dutch children with cochlear implants was investigated in this thesis. Recorded spontaneous speech from each child was transcribed, after which the occurences per verb type was determined for each child. These results, together with the way in which the children with a cochlear implant use these verbs, were compared with the verbal development of Dutch normal-hearing children and adults
