The laws of Hywel Dda in the four branches of the Mabinogi

Abstract

This thesis is a research of the legal elements in the four branches of the Mabinogi (i.e. Pwyll, Branwen, Manawydan and Math). The thesis consists of a chapter on law texts, a chapter on the four branches, the summaries and analyses of the stories. The analyses follow the chronology of the stories. If possible, corresponding entries from the law texts are given.
