dc.description.abstract	Na de val van de Berlijnse Muur was er discussie of Europa na het einde van de Koude Oorlog opnieuw in chaos zou vervallen. De realistische en institutionele theorieën hieromtrent worden getoetst aan het proces naar Duitse eenwording en de nieuwe Europese orde die daarmee zou ontstaan. Zo wordt verklaard in hoeverre de NAVO en de EG een bijdrage hebben geleverd aan de stabiele Europese orde.
