Cultivating Peace through Mindanao's Grassroots
Summary
Depspite some 40 years of ongoing violent conflict in the southern Filipino island of Mindanao, grassroots activism has been laying in-roads to stability and development in the region. This thesis intends to show that such peacebuilding, taken from a constructivist view, can be considered a social process. Thereby we may identify underlying micro-mechanisms, which more explicitly contribute to the apparent success of what the Mindanaoans refer to as "The Culture of Peace."
