This Masters Thesis is a comparative analysis of women's emancipation in Iran, Iraq and Turkey from 1950 until the present. It describes the indicators and causes of women's development and emancipation in the Middle East. This study shows that Western interventions in the Middle East have more than once proved to have worked counter-effectively in relation to women's development and proposes foreign policy that is based on comparative research which is likely to work more effectively.
