        Summary
This thesis examines the way in which Second and Third-Generation Holocaust survivors deal with the collective memory of the Holocaust in literature and examines how these works of literature contribute to the collective memory of this event. The novels that are closely examined are 'The Golems of Gotham' by Thane Rosenbaum and 'Everything is Illuminated' by Jonathan Safran Foer.
